What makes Granat different?

Modern coatings can quickly clog conventional abrasives as sanding residue accumulates between the abrasive grains. Granat was developed specifically to perform effectively in these demanding applications. Its special coating helps reduce clogging, allowing more of the abrasive surface to remain active and extending useful sanding life.

What does P40 mean?

P40 identifies a coarse abrasive grit. The relatively large abrasive particles remove material rapidly and are therefore best suited to initial sanding, levelling, stripping and other applications where aggressive material removal is more important than producing the final surface finish.

Why use a sanding grit sequence?

A coarse abrasive such as P40 removes material efficiently but leaves a correspondingly coarse sanding pattern. For a finer finished surface, follow P40 with progressively finer abrasive grades appropriate to the material and coating system. Avoid excessively large jumps between grit sizes, as this can make it difficult for the next abrasive to remove the scratches produced by the previous sanding stage.
